Fractional CO2 laser is an advanced type of laser used in dermatology and cosmetic surgery. This laser uses carbon dioxide (CO2) to create an intense beam of light that can be applied in form of microscopic beams to the skin for purposes such as:
It is a quick treatment performed on an outpatient basis. The procedure itself is preceded by a necessary professional consultation, the creation of medical documentation, or the execution of photo documentation before the procedure. We first apply an anesthetic cream to the treated area. After numbing the skin, one area at a time is gradually treated. The entire treatment depends on the length of the procedure and the size of the treated area, the density of the laser beams and the depth of penetration of the beam into the skin.
Immediately after the procedure, the skin becomes red, the patient feels a burning sensation simmilar to a sunburn. Ice packs can be used at home to relieve the symptoms.
Make-up usage is allowed three to four days after the procedure, depending on the individual condition.
The skin is reddened for 3 to 10 days depending on the intensity of the procedure, it is slightly swollen, peeling and with small scabs, the healing process is very individual, conditioned by thorough hygiene and skin care after the procedure.
After the procedure, it is recommended to use a cream with a sun protection factor of 50 for 4 to 8 weeks and not to exposing the skin to direct sunlight or a solarium. We recommend Cicaplast cream, which you can buy at our clinic or in most pharmacies.
